The Beach
Mumbai pulsates with activity and so does the Juhu beach in Mumbai,
Maharashtra. Juhu beach is one of the
largest and and frequently visited beaches of India. It is located 18 km
north of the Mumbai city center. The beach at Juhu is an arresting beach on
the shores of Arabian sea and is one of the ritzy localities of Mumbai where
one can find luxurious buildings of the famous film personalities. The Juhu
Beach Mumbai is crowded by tourists from dawn to dusk through out the year.

The Speciality of the Beach
The beach, which almost seems deserted during weekdays, always tends to get
very crowded on weekends. Generally it is not a very good place to swim. It
is crowded with choc-a-bloc Bhelpuri and Kulfi stalls. On weekends one can
take the pleasure of horse and donkey rides, dancing monkeys, acrobats,
cricket matches, toy sellers and every other type of Indian beach
entertainment. Versova Beach is towards north of Juhu, which is a home to
Mumbai's largest Koli fishing community. Vendors ply on the beach calling
attention to their wares, which are mostly souveneirs like T-shirts and cute
little Indian dolls made from seashells.
Eating Joints At Juhu Beach
Though it is not a very good place to swim, it's an ideal snack joint, with
various food stalls selling Indian snacks. If you would like to try out
Bhelpuri or a Kulfi in Mumbai, Juhu is the most ideal place to be. If you
are in search of a more fancy excursion, Juhu has many five star hotels
located near the beach, which also provides a splendid view of the coast.
The government run Juhu Centaur also has a 24-hour coffee shop with a view
of the sea.

Versova
Beach
Versova Beach is the nearby attraction located towards the north of Juhu,
which is a home to Mumbai's largest Koli fishing community.
Iskcon
It is more popularly known as Hare Rama Hare Krishna temple and is situated
at Juhu. A holy place of worship, meditation and spiritual knowledge, it
advocates the principles of The Bhagwad Gita as taught by Lord Krishna.
Powai Lake
This lake is 25 miles from Bombay, and can be reached via King's Circle,
Sion, and Kurla, or through Santa Cruz and Andheri. Lake Powai is near the
IIT campus and is smaller than Vihar lake which is a mile further.
Jain Temple
This marble temple was erected in 1904. Statues of the Jain
Tirthankaras(prophets) are placed on the ground floor of the temple.
Siddhivinayak Temple
The historic Shri Siddhivinayak Temple is at Prabhadevi in Central Mumbai.
The temple is almost 200 years old and an idol of Lord Ganesh is carved a
black stone. The trunk of the elephant-god Ganesh is turned to the right.
The idol is visible from any point in the mandap. It is close to Dadar
station.
Mount Mary Church
The Mount Mary Church at Bandra is an important church and is the venue for
the annual fair. The view of the sunset over the Arabian Ocean is
breathtaking.
Mahim Shrine
Makhtum Fakir Ali Paru was famous for his commentary on the Quran. A shrine
was built in 1413 in his memory.
