except for one or two guesthouses located here and there. There are
abolutely no beach hotels around Arambol. So it is always better that you
check in at some other nearby place and then go visiting Arambol beach in

kit themselves out at Mapusa Market.
Charming Spots at Arambol
Teracol Fort
This fort was a key Portuguese fort for the defense of Goa, on the north
side of the estuary of the Teracol River, the most northern boundary of Goa.
This historic monument of the state has now been converted into a low-key
luxury hotel.
A Freshwater Lake
Going further you will find a small freshwater lake extending along the
bottom of the valley into a thick jungle. Fed by the boiling hot springs,
the lake is lined with sulphurous mud, which, when smeared over the body,
dries to form a surreal, butter coloured shell, believed to be therapeutic.
Oceanic Activities
One can go for swimming and para-gliding. The rocky headland or the cliffs
near the beaches are popular for para-gliding. Dolphin watching boat trips
and paragliding are amongst the fun activities on this beach. Boat trip to
Anjuna Beach are also available from
here. Some good cafes along the main beach and on the headland to the north
serve delicious dishes from Italy, Goa and India.
