Anjuna beach in

The
Goa Anjuna Beach was discovered by the
hippies in the late 1950s to mid-1960s. From then onwards, the trend of
moonlit parties began, which is one occasion the tourists look forward to.
Beach Accessibility
Airlines : Dabolim is the nearest airport from here. It is
29 km away from Panaji and 47 km from Anjuna.
Rail Lines : Indian railways runs several trains to &
from Karmali, 11 km away from Panaji and 29 km from Anjuna, the nearest
railhead from the beach.
Bus Lines : There are buses every hour to Anjuna from
Mapusa . For tourists arriving from Mumbai, Mapusa is the jumping-off point
for the northern beaches.
Private / Hired Vehicles : Once in Goa, you can also hire
bikes, charges range from Rs 250 to Rs 400 per day. If you are staying in
Goa, then you can also take your own vehicle or hire a vehicle from any tour
operator, as per your comfort and requirement.
Lodging at Anjuna
If you are worried about where to stay, then there are plenty of
guesthouses around the village and even a couple of hotels. There are also
houses which a person can take on rent if he is planning to stay on the Goa
Anjuna beach for a couple of months.

Albuquerque Mansion
There is a magnificent Mascarenhas Mansion - Albuquerque Mansion built in
1920, for one to see. The Mascarenhas Mansion is an architectural delight
with rich and classic balconies. It has some of the finest stained glass
floral etchings.
The Chapora Fort
The Chapora Fort gives a superb view of the nearby Anjuna and Vagator
beaches. The fort has been well preserved except for a few interesting
ruins. Once, this fort was a domain of the Muslim rulers before the
Portuguese wrested it.
Flea
Market
The Wednesday Flea Market of Anjana is famous for its multifarious items
that are on sale. Any and everything under the sky can be found here, and
lines of vehicles full of tourists start pouring in. From used paperbacks to
haircuts, there is everything for everyone. One can bid on wonderful blends
of Tibetan, Kashmiri and Gujarati trinkets and handicrafts, European snacks,
cassettes of a noisy brand of music called 'Goa Trance', artificial
ornaments carvings and T-shirts. Elephant rides, photographs with fake
sadhus or fake snake charmers can also be found here.
Full Moon Parties
Anjuna is also known for the full-moon (acid house) parties that are held
here for younger tourists. The acid parties here are the major source of
tourist attraction around the world. Facilities for bungee jumping are also
available here due to the initiative of a private tour operator.

If interested in swimming then consult the life guard before going for it.
Swimming at Anjuna Beach Goa could be dangerous. Both the beach-side and
village at Anjuna have several good places to eat and drink. Many of them
specialised in fish and western food. Numerous water sports activities are
available for the water sports lovers.
